Beautiful and inviting valley between Pisaq and Ollantaytambo esteemed by our ancestors due to the special conditions it has like: beneficial climate, generous fertility of its land, and the presence of the Wilcamayu or Sacred River. In this zone, the Incas found an appropriate place to leave samples of their wide knowledge on hydraulics and their deep love for nature. It is known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Pisaq, is a picturesque town with a half-breed colonial appearance. Visit the native fair in Pisaq (only Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). On Sundays, people celebrate the traditional mass in Quechua with the attendance of the Varayocs or native Mayors. Drive, walk, bike, raft, along the Sacred River (Vilcanota, paved road, lunch in Urubamba, then a short drive finds you arriving to Ollantaytambo village. |
